모든 게임에는 규칙이 있습니다.
게임이 처음 만들어졌을 때의 규칙은 간단하기 그지 없습니다. 그러나 시간이 흐르고 참가자가 많아질수록 다양한 경우가 발생하게 되고 그 때마다 게임의 규칙은 추가 되거나 변화되어 점점 복잡하고 어려워지게 됩니다.
게임에 참여하는 사람이 누구이던 간에 공정하게 진행되어야 하기 때문입니다. 만일 한 참 시간이 흐른 뒤에 경기에 참여하고자 한다면 제일 먼저 규칙을 알아야 할 것입니다.
우리가 살고 있는 자본주의에도 분명한 규칙이 있습니다.
처음 자본주의라는 것이 시작된 후 수 백 년 간 구미 열강들은 다양한 금융실험을 거듭해 왔고 이를 통해 지속적으로 머니 게임의 룰을 보완하고 연습해 왔습니다.
돈은 가치를 지니고 있는 재화이기도 하고 거래의 도구로 사용된다는 이중성을 가진 것이어서 머니 게임은 매우 복잡하고 어렵습니다. 그래서 이 게임에 참여하려면 많은 경험과 함께 복잡한 게임의 규칙을 충분히 숙지해야 합니다.
그런데 우리나라와 같이 자본주의의 경험이 일천한 나라들은 그들과 같이 충분한 경험이 없는 상태에서 그들의 제도를 받아들여 머니 게임에 뛰어들게 되었습니다. 규칙도 잘 모르고 방법도 잘 모르지만 경기장과 간단한 규칙만 익힌 채 그렇게 게임을 시작한 것입니다.
그들이 게임의 규칙을 정비하는 동안 우리는 식민지배로 수탈당하고 6.25 전쟁으로 폐허가 된 상태에서 살아남기 위해 허리띠를 졸라매고 열심히 일을 하고 돈을 벌었습니다. 먹고 싶은 것 먹지 않고, 입고 싶은 것 입지 않고, 쓰고 싶은 것 쓰지 않으면서 돈을 벌 수 있다면 이것 저것 따지지 않고 매진했고, 기적처럼 많은 재산을 모을 수 있었습니다.
그런데 이렇게 열심히 벌고 아껴서 쌓아 둔 많은 돈을 한 번에 몽땅 날리는 일이 발생합니다. 바로 머니 게임의 규칙을 제대로 알지 못했기 때문에 허무한 몰수 패를 당한 것입니다.
많은 분들이 복잡한 머니 게임의 규칙을 잘 모르기도 하고 또 알고 싶어하지도 않지만 이 규칙의 숙지가 우리의 생존과 직결되어 있는 것이라면 어떻게 해야 할까요?
이제부터라도 머니 게임의 규칙을 제대로 알지 못하면 우리는 앞으로도 계속 몰수 패를 당할 것입니다.

Rules of the Money Game in Capitalist Systems.
Every game operates under a set of rules.
When a game is first created, its rules are simple. As time passes and more participants join, diverse situations emerge, prompting continuous additions and modifications to the rules, making the game increasingly complex. Regardless of who participates, the competition must remain fair. Anyone entering the game after a significant amount of time must first learn the rules.
Capitalism operates under its own unmistakable rules. Since the inception of capitalist systems, Western powers have conducted countless financial experiments over several centuries, steadily refining and practicing the mechanics of the money game.
Because money possesses dual characteristics—being both a store of value and a medium of exchange—the money game becomes highly intricate and difficult. To participate properly, one must gain extensive experience and fully understand the complex structure of its rules.
However, nations like ours, with a relatively short history of capitalist experience, adopted these systems without the same depth of practice. We entered the money game with limited understanding, knowing only the playing field and a handful of basic rules.
While advanced economies were busy organizing and perfecting the rules, we were enduring colonial exploitation, rebuilding from the devastation of war, tightening our belts, working relentlessly, and accumulating wealth simply to survive. We refrained from consuming, avoided unnecessary spending, and pushed forward single-mindedly to earn and save whatever we could, miraculously amassing significant capital.
Yet a single moment wiped out the wealth we saved through such hardship. Because we lacked proper understanding of the money game’s rules, we suffered an abrupt and devastating loss.
Many people either do not know or do not wish to know the complex rules of the money game. But if understanding these rules determines our very survival, what should we do?
Unless we commit to learning the rules of the money game from this point forward, we will continue to face repeated and unavoidable forfeitures in the future.
