최근 대한민국 정부요직을 맡고 있는 사람들 중에 뉴라이트 출신 친일매국 밀정들이 득세를 하는 것 같아서, 예전에 읽었던 환단고기(桓檀古記) 내용을 정리했던 것을 AI의 도움을 받아 영어로도 번역해서 외국인들도 읽을 수 있도록 함께 공유하고자 한다.

환단고기(桓檀古記)라는 이름을 그대로 풀이하면 대략 ‘환웅과 단군에 대한 오래된 기록’이라는 뜻이다. 환단고기는 삼성기(안함로), 삼성기(원동중), 단군세기(이암), 북부여기(범장), 태백일사(이맥) 등, 신라의 고승 안함로에서 조선조 이맥에 이르기까지 천년세월을 걸쳐 당시 최고의 지성 다섯 사람에 의해 저술된 사서가 하나로 집대성된 책이다.
내가 읽어봤을 때도 환단고기는 상당히 역사적 고증을 걸친 내용이 많고, 민족사학적 뿌리의 근간이 되는 책이라 생각이 되었다. 환단고기가 진서라는 증거가 100가지가 넘는다면 위서일지도 모르는 점들은 열 손가락으로 꼽을 정도이니 말이다.
그런데 우리나라에 많은 사학자들은 환단고기를 부정하고, 많은 사람들이 환단고기 추종자들을 환빠라고 칭하며 조롱하는 이유는 무엇을까? 일본과 중국은 없는 역사도 만들고 왜곡하면서 스스로 민족의식을 고취시키는 이상한 나라들인데, 대한민국은 자국의 위대한 역사를 부정하기 바쁜 더더더 이상한 나라인 이유는 무엇일까?
그 이유는 오래전부터 대부분 친일 식민지 사관을 가지고 있는 우리나라 기득권 역사학계에서 이를 위서, 또는 소설이라며 부정하고 있고 언론에 영향력을 행사하고 있기 때문이다. 물론 당연히 조중동 같은 주류 언론 또한 친일파 세력들이니 당연할 것이다. 자국의 위대한 역사적 사료가 있다면 그 사실이 진실인지 여부를 밝히는 일에 열중해야 하는데도, 우리는 반대로 그런 위대한 역사를 부정하기 위해 노력을 기울이는 참으로 기이한 현상을 접하고 있는 것이다.
그래서 먼저 환단고기가 진서라고 생각할 수 있는 사실 하나를 알려드리고자 한다.
이암의 <단군세기> 기록에 따르면, 제13대 단군인 흘달단군 무진 오십년(BCE1733년)때 오성취루 현상(五星聚婁:목,화,토,금,수성이 일렬로 서는 현상)이 목격됐음을 기록하고 있다. 이 기록을 천문학계 박창범 교수와 박석재 박사가 시물레이션으로 실험한 결과, 단 1년의 오차도 없음을 밝혀냈다.
이러한 천문현상을 임의로 맞춘다는 것은 확률적으로 불가능하며 따라서 그당시 우리조상들은 천문현상을 기록으로 남길 수 있는 조직과 문화를 소유하고 있었음을 알 수 있다. 즉 천문대를 가진 고조선이라는 나라가 분명히 존재 했었다는 사실이 증명되는 것이다.

It seems that individuals from the New Right movement, known for their pro-Japanese and traitorous stances, are increasingly holding key positions in the South Korean government. If we break down the name Hwandan Gogi (桓檀古記), it roughly means “Ancient Records of Hwanung and Dangun.” The text is a compilation of historical records authored over a span of a thousand years by five of the greatest minds of their times, ranging from An Ham-ro of Silla to Lee Maek of the Joseon Dynasty. These include the Samseonggi (by An Ham-ro), Samseonggi (by Won Dong-jung), Dangunsegi (by Yi Am), Bukbuyeogi (by Beomjang), and Taebaek Ilsa (by Lee Maek).
In my reading, Hwandan Ancient History contains substantial historical validation and serves as a foundational text for nationalistic historical scholarship. If there are over 100 pieces of evidence supporting the authenticity of Hwandan Ancient History, the potential points of contention could be counted on ten fingers.
So why do many scholars in South Korea deny Hwandan Ancient History, and why do many people mock its supporters as “Hwanppa”? Why is South Korea, a country where many historians reject the nation’s great history, so much stranger than Japan and China, which create and distort history to fuel their national consciousness?
The reason lies in the fact that South Korea’s academic establishment, long influenced by pro-Japanese colonial historiography, dismisses Hwandan Ancient History as a forgery or fiction, exerting their influence over the media as well. Naturally, major mainstream media outlets like Chosun, JoongAng, and Dong-A, which have pro-Japanese affiliations, would also follow suit. Instead of focusing on verifying whether such historical records are true, we are witnessing the bizarre phenomenon of efforts being made to deny such great historical evidence.
To begin with, let me share one fact that suggests Hwandan Ancient History is an authentic text.
According to the Dangunsegi by Yi Am, during the 50th year of the reign of the 13th Dangun, Huldal Dangun (BCE 1733), there was an astronomical event called the “Oseongchwiloo” (五星聚婁), where five planets (Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Venus, and Mercury) aligned in a straight line. This event was recorded by Professor Park Chang-beom and Dr. Park Seok-jae through a simulation, revealing that there was no margin of error—not even by a year.
The probability of correctly recording such an astronomical event by chance is impossible, which means that our ancestors must have possessed the organizational capability and culture to document such celestial events. This proves the existence of Gojoseon, a nation that had an observatory.
There is also a theory that Hwandan Ancient History copied from other records, but Professor Park states that the astronomical facts in our ancient books are much more accurate than the records in Chinese or Japanese astronomy. It is impossible for a copied record to be more accurate than the original.
